Local and regional governments have been working feverishly to develop strategies for dealing with climate change and reducing greenhouse emissions. In the Bay Area, organizations, programs and projects such as Bay Localize, Local Clean Energy Alliance, Oakland Climate Action Coalition and Sunnyvale Cool City have been driving forces in forging community partnerships and guiding action.
Now, looks like the newly created San Francisco Climate Action Portal may be a one-stop-shop for information, tools and resources for climate actions in the Bay Area and beyond. While I’ve only taken a quick spin, the Portal looks like a climate change playground offering sections such as:
- Climate action resources in the Bay Area
- Clean Cities Program
- Local government climate hubs
- Tracking Bay Area progress
The Portal is the result of a partnership of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) the Institute for Local Government (ILG) – affiliate of the League of California Cities and the California State Association of Counties.
