Governor Jerry Brown’s office has just announced the appointments of two key environmental and energy positions.
Janelle Beland, former senior advisor and caucus director for Senate President Pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg, has been appointed undersecretary of the California Natural Resources Agency, which is charged with managing and protecting the state’s natural resources.
Anthony Eggert has been appointed to the California Energy Commission, the state body responsible for setting energy policy. Eggert served the commission in 2010, and previously worked as a senior policy advisor at the California Air Resources Board from 2007 to 2010.
