Kudos to Steve Jobs! And, congratulations to Cupertino!
While everyone was cooing over Jobs’ announcement about the iCloud, he had another fabulous surprise up his sleeve. Jobs showed up at the June 7 Cupertino City Council meeting and announced that he would be building a new, greener company headquaters at the intersection of Pruneridge Ave. and Wolfe Rd.
According to Pueng Vongs over at Yahoo!SF:
The grounds will be transformed from primarily asphalt to green. Parking will go underground and the CEO says Apple plans to almost double the 3,700 trees on the property. He wants to add apricot orchards like the ones he recalls growing up with nearby.
I love the fact that he’s replanting the apricot orchards! I lived in Cupertino as a kid and remember passing apricot orchards and honeysuckle bushes on my way to school. It will be a nice green touch.
